This page tracks a little snapshot in time of what i'm doing, reading and thinking.

  1. October

Discovered the Indie Web and joined my first Indie Web meetup by attending the Homebrew Website Club Europe/London. It's really inspiring to see everyone's ideas for their personal sites, and discuss different topics and experiments.

Also built my personal site using Eleventy - this one you're reading now - and migrated a lot of my content from elsewhere here. I'm currently really enamoured with the idea of the personal web. It's definitely scratching a nostalgic itch for my early days on the web.

We've been watching Agatha All Along this month - I think one more episode to go - which has been really fun. Last night we watch Jurassic Park for the first time in ages. It holds up really well.

Passed my probation in my new role - I must be doing something right(!)

  2. September

Putting intentional focus on my creativity at the moment, specifically learning digital illustration and regularly doodling in my sketchbook.

Picked up my first pen display this month - a Huion Kamvas 13 as used by @TheBookishAnimator on Instagram - and really enjoying colouring!

We're both really enjoying the Rings of Power series. However, waiting a week between episodes is tough.

  3. August

Dabbled with game dev for the first time in a long time this month by entering the Weak Sauce Game Jam. The relaxed nature of this jam is kind to my busy schedule and I was pleased to get something working. I worked on my little harvest game, Pocket Patch, for five days before running out of steam. I found setting up the UI confusing and I changed my mind about the direction of the game. The host is very accomodating and i'd like to make something playable to submit in September.

  4. April

Still living in London, but now working at The University of Strathclyde, so commuting to Glasgow once a month for some much needed facetime with my colleagues.

Became a member of Mimimoo Illustration's community this month, and enjoying the inspiration and cosy prompts.
