I’ve finished Eldest. It didn’t take that long really, I only read on the bus which is about 2-4 hours a day and it took 4 days. I wish I hadn’t finished it though. I want to read the conclusion, Inheritence, but it isn’t even been published yet.
The story is fantastic though. I easily get swept up in fiction stories. No matter what happens in them, it always seems more glamorous than the life i’m leading right now. It’s nice to have that escape. Even if i’m at work, punching the same crap into the computer and shuffling the same bits of paper every day, my mind is elsewhere.
It’s beside Eragon and Saphira as they fly across the Hadarac desert towards Surda, or watching Roran swing his hammer into someone’s head.
I regularly wish that I could melt into those books, become that character, and live that life. Now that would be something…
But it’s back to the same-old same-old tomorrow I suppose. There’s no magic in these fingers…

Lol, don’t you think living those lives would be a bit scary? Although some books are great, and you know how much I love literature, I wouldn’t want to be in the story.
Although I love the sound of certain creatures etc, I’ve always thought books have made me appreciate the things I have more – like my family, friends and you, being able to learn more about the world each day (despite some of it being crap, there are some good things) and just general existence, we’re alive and should appreciate it and make the most of it.
I guess it seems more appealing if you’re in a nine to five job – I bet I’ll be complaining one day! But by the way – you’re coming to York tomorrow, hardly a normal boring day!!
As for magic, you might think I’m kind of idealistic/romantic, but I think there’s magic everywhere if you look for it. It’s when you see the sun rise, the stars, a cat minding it’s own business, knowing that you have people who care about you and what you think and feel. It’s when you feel connected to someone even if they’re nowhere near you (like I feel about you).
Besides, we’re going on holiday in september so I’m sure it will be a mini-adventure
