Unless your on good terms with the Don…

Just finished watching The Godfather. Now I know what all the fuss is about.

My rent’s taped it for me last week – although it was too long for the tape so they missed about 20mins finding a second tape (We so need a digital recording device…) but they filled me in – it was great. I loved the film. Apparently it’s the best of the three so i’ll see what I make of Part II which is on tomorrow night.

It was hard to remember all the character’s names but when I get the dvd i’ll watch it more seriously – my rents talked through alot of the film!

They also taped BattleStar Galactica last week when I was at my (last) Spanish class – so i’ll watch that on saturday, then watch the repeat of the episode that was on tonight.

I also want to watch Glasgow Celtic play Motherwell on t.v. tomorrow night. Glasgow Celtic are my favourite football team (soccer).

So much to watch, so little time, and I hardly ever watch t.v. nowadays. I just catch the news in the mornings and my favourite sci-fi programme once a week in the evening usually.

Anyways, I got a payrise at work – woohoo – it won’t work out as much over the year and after tax. Dad thinks an extra £34 quid a month (He’s so precise!) but atleast it’s something (£34/$60/49Euro) to help towards the holiday savings.

Well, time to chill…enjoy yourselves everyone…

So the world wide web is a big place: There seem to be new sites popping up every second, it’s total chaos – I love it=)

There also seem to be new buzzwords floating around alot so this poor fool has decided to educate himself on one of these words – podcasts.

The term has been kicking around for awhile (uh 2004 actually!) but my head has been in the sand so this one has passed me by until now. I found the following explanation:

“Podcasts are audio broadcasts created and stored digitally on the Internet. Instead of being broadcast over the airwaves and lost, like with traditional radio, podcasts were created to be stored and played at the user’s convenience. Think of them as radio shows waiting to be downloaded. There are currently thousands of podcasts available, covering everything from automobiles to rock ‘n roll.”

Cool huh? This all sounds great, and I downloaded the free iPodder software to get some podcasts – but so far all i’ve got is some creepy guys slavering nonsense over my speakers – Nice!

Anyway, i’ll give it a whirl until I find another buzzword I want to research.

    Until we meet again…

    Evening folks,

I’ve just got back after a weekend in York with Falling.

It’s our five-year anniversary on the 1st of Feb so we celebrated it this weekend by going for a meal. It was nice, I drank a bit too much of some strong wine so I was a bit hyper by the time we left the restaurant but it was fun. You only live once so might aswell make the most of it!

We watched Casablanca – I didn’t expect to like it but I was pleasantly suprised, it’s a good film. I know Falling thinks I don’t like any old films but I do, I’m just fussy. I remember watching a film on daytime tv called “Tuesdays with Maury” or something like that. It was just about this guy visiting his old college professor before he died and the life lessons he was passing down to him. It’s hard to explain. It was very sad but compelling too. I like some weird and wonderful films. Dad is watching “There’s Something About Mary” at the mo’ which looks quite funny – I watched the first 15 mins before coming up here to blog.

Hmm…I like this time of the night. It’s late and I have work tomorrow, but my mind is elsewhere. It’s thinking about all the mini projects I have waiting around for my time and energy: The book I got on building arcade machines (I want to relive the glory days of Gain Ground..but more on that later), the lego figures locked in a light-sabre duel behind my keyboard, the Aardman books on stopmotion animation, the mech sketches I started doodling (And tearing up I might add!), the mech-related story I started thinking up…so much to do and so little time.

    I live. I try. I sleep.
